Developed for Digtal Edge Subsea, the Dive Eventing and Inspection System is a hardware 19in rack mounted unit with 3TB of internal storage. The unit has three hard drives, two of which are for survey video and photo data. The two 1.5TB survey SATA hard drives are mounted in removable drawers enabling the system to record unlimited data. A 30 second break to switch hard drives to a new set and start recording again.

The unit has inbuilt automatic data backup using a proprietry data management concept. A copy of the data is held on both hard drives but not in a simple mirror image. Data is held in two seperate formats, each specific to the user.

  • Operations Hard Drive - Data is formatted for ROV operators. All data is stored in a logical manner so if the hard drive is removed, a project manager can plug it into his PC or take a copy to an external hard drive and then directly navigate the file structure from Windows Explorer with no prior knowledge to find the video, photos or logs he requires. The file structure takes the format of:

  • Inspections Hard Drive - Data is formatted for Survey / Inspection personel and the client. The unit is mounted in a ROV shack. No more manual entries on a dive log, or rewinding video to find specific events in the video stream.
